 WHAT THERE IS

I. There is a double gulp dead center on the sidewalk

5 feet from the curb 5 inches from the nearest crack

 

II. There is a spatula nailed to the brick wall of a building

on Elston Street

 

III. There is a breeze in the harbor where the water crashes up

gets your pants wet because you couldn’t roll them up any further

 

IV. There is a head board with enough space at its base that

any attempt to lean pillows against it will find them pushed

through the opening and on the floor

 

V. The intersection of State and Madison is the

dead center of the city
